Chief Editor

Chief editor of the «Palimpsest» journal – Alexei Valerievich Korovashko, literary scholar, culturologist, essayist, critic. Born in 1970 in Gorky.

Graduate of Lobachevsky State University of Nizhny Novgorod. Doctor of Sciences (philology), Head of the Department of Russian literature, Deputy Director (on science) of the the Institute of Philology and Journalism of Lobachevsky University, member of the editorial board of the scientific almanac «Traditional Culture» (Moscow), member of the Literary Academy («grand jury») of the National Literary Award «Big Book» (since 2022).

Alexei Korovashko’s articles on modern Russian and foreign literature, literary history, folklore, cultural anthropology were published in such journals as «New World», «Ural», «Questions of Literature», «Siberian Lights», «Russian Literature», «Russian Literature» (English edition), «Traditional Culture», «Living Antiquity», etc. He is the author of the books: «Conspiracy and Spells in Russian Literature of the 19th - 20th Centuries» (Moscow: «Intrada», 2009), «In the Footsteps of Dersu Uzala. Paths of the Ussuri region» (Moscow: «Veche», 2015, series «My Siberia»), «Mikhail Bakhtin»; (Moscow: «Young Guard», 2017, part of «The Lives of Remarkable People» series;), «Oleg Kuvaev: the story of an unregulated man» (co-authored with Vasily Avchenko) (Moscow: AST, Edited by Elena Shubina, 2019, series «Great Sixties»).

In 2018, a monograph by A.V. Korovashko's «Mikhail Bakhtin» was included in the long list of the Russian National Literary Award «Big Book». In 2019, his book «Oleg Kuvaev: the story of an unregulated man», co-written with V.O. Avchenko, was included in the short list of the «Big Book», and in 2020 – in the long list of the «Enlightener» award.
