The article reviews the poetry collection «Evanescence», written by a prominent literary scholar, a specialist in Pushkin's works, Vsevolod Alekseevich Grekhnyov (1938-1998). An outstanding scholar and teacher, who dedicated almost his entire life to Lobachevsky University, Vsevolod Grekhnyov was a delicate lyric poet and a wise philosopher. Despite the transience of human life and mortality of the earthly body, 114 the word of Grekhnyov the poet continues to resonate in the hearts of readers. This happens because it bears the stamp of true talent, forever preserved the warmth and light of his soul. In Vsevolod Grekhnov's understanding, the word is not just a sign that performs a utilitarian and pragmatic function. It is inextricably linked to nature, the human soul, and faith in God. Only the mighty lyrics get the right to eternal life, everything else is only fleeting. Grekhnyov's lyrics, in addition to their undoubted artistic merits, contain what could reasonably be called implicit linguistic poetics. Within its framework, the reader has an opportunity to get new knowledge about such a fundamental unit of language as sound. Sound in the poetry of Grekhnyov acquires not only acoustic and phonetic but also existential dimensions, being involved in the movement of the time in which human existence unfolds. In addition, the article examines the natural and philosophical aspects of V. A. Grekhnyov's lyrics and analyzes the dialogue that he pursues with his predecessors both in literature and in other areas of art
