Abstract
The article discusses the phenomenon of Vladimir Vysotskiy‘s war poetry analyzing the main themes, motives, and images that form the poet‘s worldview, describes the space-time organization of his poetic system. The author studies on the poet‘s motivation that drives him towards the war poetry. So far, the scholarly research on this topic has been generally based on biographical method, which is unconvincing for conceptual conclusions regarding the significance of this theme in the poet‘s works. Thus, the article aims to identify not only nonliterary, but also intraliterary reasons for this theme and to demonstrate the linkage and interdependence of all elements in the poetic system. The author insists on the Vysotskiy‘s poetic system integrity, supported by his worldview and intention of creative consciousness. The main points are illustrated by select poetic quotes from V.Vysotskiy and their brief hermeneutical analysis. The author concludes that war theme in Vysotskiy‘s poetry is a mediator of -restoring the lost Absolute? fundamental idea. While working on facetious socially oriental texts, Vysotskiy comes to understanding that reproduced corporeal world is incomplete. That is why the opposition -up - down?, -metaphysical - corporeal? is so pertinent in his lyrics. Vysotskiy‘s persona aspires to the bright peak; and this is the only way he can comprehend harmony of the Universe. The war destroys the vanity world and quite traditionally becomes the arena of the spirit.
