Abstract
The article is an interview with a literary critic, editor-in-chief of the online magazine "TextOnly" I.V. Kukulin (the interviewer is a poet, translator, lecturer of Lobachevsky State University of Nizhny Novgorod E.V. Samomenko (Suslova)). Speaking about the place of the theory of literature in the modern cultural space, I.V. Kukulin notes that the discrediting the concept of "national literature" and the actualization of the phenomenon of trans-linguistic literature, the blurring of the border between fiction and other literary practices, the renewal of the ways of communication between the reader and literature, as well as changes in the field of philosophical aesthetics lead to the inevitable transformation of the "traditional" theory of literature, 111 which can be reconstructed in the future. According to the researcher, the objects of the new discipline, which is being formed in the place of the theory of literature, can become both the mechanisms of working with human consciousness and with the consciousness of others through the text, and the processes of textual externally oriented expression of an individual. Ilya Kuklin also draws attention to the need to revise the content of the concept of "natural language" as it is implicitly related to the concept of "common sense", which in the modern world often becomes a tool for manipulating public consciousness. Reflecting on the possibilities of human interaction with the world where technical systems are ontologized, I.V. Kukulin, adhering to the anthropocentric position, negatively assesses the idea of "neuronal realism" and rejection of symbolization. At the same time, recognizing the position of humanity in its own exclusive way, the scientist believes that the critical revision of its position, constantly carried out by mankind, allows the perspective possibility of creative interaction of people with other biological species, but only on condition of recognition of subjectivity for their representatives. The scholar emphasizes that critically perceived subjectivity is an integral element of literature, which is the constant creation of new consciousness and its erasure.
