Abstract
The article analyzes the role of cinema quotations in the textual space of V. Pelevin‘s novels. The study shows that when creating narrative structures, the author 87 uses elements of the media space actualized by the protagonist. At the same time, the particular importance is given to the elements belonging to the semantic group -cinema?. As part of textual evolution, these elements in the form of quotations introduce new semantic meanings that affirm new correlations between textual and non-textual spaces, thus actualizing the ideological concepts of the author's project. By creating an effect of reality, the quote becomes evidence of the invasion of -reality?, another text, and the Other into the text, which in turn - through the actualization of the conspiracy principle - facilitates the invasion of the text itself into nontextual reality. Cinema quotation also constructs visual-temporal acts of diegetic space, which include the reader in the process of building, deciphering images of the text. The cinema quotation is involved in narrative deployment of the text, forming a space around the protagonist. The cinema quotation creates narrative frames that are conscious and unconscious from the protagonist‘s point of view. At the same time, the cinema quotation can be based not on a specific cinematographic image, but on an abstract image, which is also affirmed in mass culture through cinematography. These frames, expanding, cooperating, give dynamism and plot density to the work, including an adventurous element in the text, which also helps to actualize the principle of -double coding?.
