In 2019, the Editorial Office of Elena Shubina (AST) published a book by Vasily Avchenko and Alexei Korovashko «Oleg Kuvaev: A Story about an Undeclared Man», which became the first biography of the cult Soviet writer, based on a wide range of materials - diaries, letters, manuscripts, as well as spoken recollections of Kuvaev. In the spring of 2020, Vasily Avchenko made a trip to Kolyma. His route was one way or another connected with Kuvaev's places - the places where either Kuvaev himself or prototypes of his protagonists lived and worked. During this trip, Avchenko collected new information that allowed to shed more light on a number of issues related to the creative history of the Kuwaev texts. For isntance, it was con firmed that the real facts were inconsistent with rumors that some representatives of the geological community prevented the presentation of the novel «Territory» in one of the academic institutions. The study of the Kolyma period of the Kuvaev biography allowed to establish the presence of contradictions and inaccuracies not only in the essay by Evgeny Sychev «Why the Poles didn't like Oleg Kuvaev», but also in the memoir book by Eric Raisky «Everyone chooses their way» (2013), many pages of 146 which are also dedicated to Oleg Kuvaev. Besides, Vasily Avchenko's notes inform about new studies of Kuvaev's creative work which should be completed in the nearest future («Time of polar tramps» by Alexander Smyshlyaev) and prospects of publication of various materials kept in Oleg Kuvaev's archive. The notes are concluded by observations over the intertextual parallels found when comparing Kuvaev's novel «Spring geese hunting» and V.G. Korolenko's autobiographical novel «The History of My Contemporary»
