Abstract
The article is devoted to the analysis and interpretation of Timur Kibirov’s poem "Konspekt" ("Synopsis"), which is part of the collection "Intimate Lyrics" (1998). The analysis of the poem shows that, contrary to the name, this poem is not a poetic paraphrase of the key provisions of the famous book of Mikhail Bakhtin "The work of Francois Rabelais and the folk culture of the Middle Ages and the Renaissance" (1965), but, relatively speaking, the author’s lyrical counterarguments intended for refutation of such a Bakhtinsky thesis as the possibility of gaining immortality within a carnival collective tribal body. In full accordance with the personally developed individual philosophy, reflected in many other poetic texts, Kibirov seeks to prove that the only form of immortality available to man is immortality offered by Christian doctrine. The concept of immortality advocated by Bakhtin in the book on Rabelais is related not so much to Christianity in its various denominations as to the teachings of the Stoics and the materialistic worldview. In addition to the explication of the semantic dominant of the analyzed poem, the article describes the correlations that exist between its specific structural elements and those fragments of Bakhtin’s monograph that provoked their appearance. Moreover, the article contains records and describes all the "traces" of the Bakhtin's philosophical and literary theory in the corpus of texts of Kibirov’s lyrics. The author also makes observations on the specific features of compositional division of the poem "Konspekt" ("Synopsis"), which serves the purpose of disavowing Bakhtin's concept of carnival. The study also focuses on the designation of the place that the poem "Konspekt" ("Synopsis") occupies both in the artistic space of "Intimate Lyrics" and in the evolution of Kibirov's work in general.
